Lowell’s German Qualifies for State Meet
Posted on 05/20/2025
Lowell hit the MHSAA regional with two things in mind with that being qualify for the state meet or run a personal record. Upon arrival the athletes discovered that they would have an additional challenge as a brutal wind and colder than normal temps were the story of the day. Prelim times were the first indicator of the winds affect as 200m times were averaging one to two seconds slower for the majority of the field. Isabel German took care of her part of the deal by winning her heat in 27.00 going into a headwind reading of 2.8m / sec. German came back to earn silver medal honors in the 200m with a time of 26.07 again with a headwind of (-3.6m/sec). Second place was enough to punch the ticket to the state meet. Leah Kreiger grabbed a 5th place finish in the 300m hurdles with a time of 47.26 which was her best time of the season but was less than a second from the AQ time needed.
In the fieled events German and Olivia Lothian both scored in the poe vault. German won the event going 12’ and Lothian took 4th with a vault of 9’9”.
Lowell has a couple of optional meets this week that some athletes have an opportunity to compete in. The state meet will be held on May 31st at East Kentwood HS.

Lowell Finishes Second in RCA T & F Conference
Posted on 05/12/2025
The Lady Arrows were in 2nd place going into the River City Alliance conference meet and that is where they finished as Coopersville matched their regular season finish by winning the meet by 22pts over the Red Arrows. The second day of the meet started off great for the Arrows as they won the first four events starting with Leah Krieger winning the 100H with a time of 15.81 which is her fastest time this season. Isabel German was next winning the 100m in a school record 12.48 and the pole vault with a vault of 12’. Lowell’s 800m relay team of Lily Dyer, Harper Schaedig, Krieger, and Laney Bieneman grabbed all-conference honors by winning the event by .21seconds over Allendale.
Kreiger and German would go on to win three more conference titles with Krieger taking the 300H in 47.68 which was another season best time and German would complete her four-event sweep taking firsts in the 400m and 200m in 58.21 and 25.89 respectively. German’s time in the 200m final was off her school record time of 25.26 which was set the day earlier in the prelims.
Lowell kept the meet close with multiple medalists with Olivia Lothian continuing to climb the Lowell record board with a 2nd place vault of 10’6”. Harper Schaedig also shined in the long jump grabbing 3rd place with a leap of 15-03.75 which was 1.5” further than Krieger’s 4th place jump. Lowell scored 29 personal records over the two-day meet. Hitting your best mark is a sign that the athletes are trusting the process and peaking at the right time. Now we must build on those marks so that the PR’s we score next year are good enough to score in the conference meet.
Lowell’s five all conference athletes were Isabel German, Leah Krieger, Lily Dyer, Harper Schaedig, and Laney Bieneman.
Other medalists for Lowell were.
Audrey Latchaw 800m (6th place) and 1600m (5th place)
Lily Dyre 100H (4th place)
Anika Huhn 300H (5th place)
