Lowell hit the MHSAA regional with two things in mind with that being qualify for the state meet or run a personal record.  Upon arrival the athletes discovered that they would have an additional challenge as a brutal wind and colder than normal temps were the story of the day.  Prelim times were the first indicator of the winds affect as 200m times were averaging one to two seconds slower for the majority of the field.  Isabel German took care of her part of the deal by winning her heat in 27.00 going into a headwind reading of 2.8m / sec.  German came back to earn silver medal honors in the 200m with a time of 26.07 again with a headwind of (-3.6m/sec).  Second place was enough to punch the ticket to the state meet.  Leah Kreiger grabbed a 5^th place finish in the 300m hurdles with a time of 47.26 which was her best time of the season but was less than a second from the AQ time needed.

In the fieled events German and Olivia Lothian both scored in the poe vault.  German won the event going 12’ and Lothian took 4^th with a vault of 9’9”.

Lowell has a couple of optional meets this week that some athletes have an opportunity to compete in.  The state meet will be held on May 31^st at East Kentwood HS.
