The breaking of a two-week school record in the pole vault highlighted the field events for the Red Arrows as Isabel German went 12’ to break the 11’10” record she set two weeks ago at the Soderman Relays. German’s vault was good for 2nd place in the event won by Brooke Bowers from Ok White foe Forest Hills Central with a vault of 12’6”. Leah Krieger continued to get it done in the hurdles as she took runner up honors in the 100MH in a time of 15.88. As in the pole vault the hurdle event was won by OK White competitor Natalie Formsma from Byron Center. Kreiger then joined teammates Claire O’Boyle, Josephine Costello, and Anika Huhn to take second place in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:11.23.
Sophomore Audrey Latchaw took advantage of qualifying for the Elite 800m by running a PR 2:27.13 which moved her to #9 on the LHS record board. The final scoring event for Lowell was the Swedish Relay (100-200-300-400) where the team of Brooklyn Braun, Laney Bieneman, Isabel German, and Krieger, took 4th place in a time of 2:28.68 which was about 10 seconds faster than in 2023. Overall it was a great meet as Lowell athletes set PRs in eight events on the day.
Lowell will travel to Byron Center on Wednesday to go against the Bulldogs.
