Boys Varsity Baseball drops to Byron Center

Arrows Lose: 2 - 8
Lowell Varsity Red Arrows watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-2 loss to Byron Center Varsity Bulldogs on Tuesday.   The Lowell Varsity Red Arrows struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Byron Center Varsity Bulldogs, giving up eight runs. Will Johnston took the loss for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. The pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Ty Wasilenski and Colton Byrne all had one hit to lead Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.

Arrows Win: 4 - 2
Lowell Varsity Red Arrows wins contest against Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets,  4-2 Aidan Dennings earned the win for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. The pitcher went six innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out 11 and walking zero.  Kevin Topolinski threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Topolinski recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. TJ Hollern, Dennings, Colton Byrne, and Owen Larose each managed one hit to lead Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.

Arrows Lose: 8 - 13
Lowell Varsity Red Arrows got things moving in the second inning, when Walker Glyshaw threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. Will Johnston was on the hill for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. The righty went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out five.  Sam Albert and Owen Larose entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Lowell Varsity Red Arrows had eight hits in the game.  Colton Byrne and TJ Hollern all collected multiple hits for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.  Hollern and Byrne each collected two hits to lead Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.  Lowell Varsity Red Arrows tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Johnston led the way with two.

Arrows Win: 5 - 3
Lowell Varsity Red Arrows were victorious over Kenowa Hills Varsity Knights, 5-3 Ty Wasilenski got the win for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. The lefty lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four and walking zero.  Kevin Topolinski threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Gavin Mazarka started the game for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. Mazarka surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out two and walking one TJ Hollern, Mazarka, Gus McDonald, Aidan Dennings, Will Johnston, Nolan Jannenga, and Colton Byrne each collected one hit to lead Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.

Arrows Win: 6 - 0
Wyoming - 0 Lowell - 6 Lowell Varsity Red Arrows defeated Wyoming Wolves 6-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Aidan Dennings induced a fly out from M Koza to finish off the game. Lowell Varsity Red Arrows got things moving in the first inning, when Dennings singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Lowell Varsity Red Arrows notched three runs in the fourth inning.  Lowell Varsity Red Arrows's big inning was driven by a triple by TJ Hollern, a groundout by Colton Byrne, and a double by Gus (Augustus) McDonald. One bright spot for Wyoming Wolves was a single by Koza in the fifth inning. Peyton Teachworth took the win for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows. Teachworth went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out six and walking one.  Will Johnston and Dennings entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. J Jenkinson took the loss for Wyoming Wolves. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out three and walking zero. Lowell Varsity Red Arrows totaled nine hits in the game.  Teachworth and Hollern each collected multiple hits for Lowell Varsity Red Arrows.  Teachworth led Lowell Varsity Red Arrows with three hits in four at bats.
