Red Arrows Claim Tournament Championship With Win Against Fruitport

Sydney Zandstra showed timely hitting on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead Lowell Red Arrows JV past Fruitport 19-7 on Saturday to claim the Tri County Tournament Championship. Zandstra drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the third, and a passed ball in the fourth.

Lowell Red Arrows JV earned the victory despite allowing Fruitport to score four runs in the first inning. Fruitport's big inning was driven by singles by LuskHayes, and Thomas.

Fruitport took an early lead in the first inning. Thomas singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Lowell Red Arrows JV took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored two runs for Lowell Red Arrows JV and Paige Romig singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Lowell Red Arrows JV notched five runs in the third inning. Lowell Red Arrows JV's big inning was driven by singles by Jillian Weston and Zandstra, a walk by Romig, and an error on a ball put in play by Faith Worsley.

Macy Huver pitched Lowell Red Arrows JV to victory. She lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out five.

Seelye started the game for Fruitport. She surrendered 12 runs on 14 hits over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero. KrigerZwar, and Chase each contributed in relief for Fruitport.

Lowell Red Arrows JV racked up 18 hits. ZandstraKelsey StephensOlivia OutmanWestonRomigHuver, and Taylor White all collected multiple hits for Lowell Red Arrows JVStephensand Zandstra each collected three hits to lead Lowell Red Arrows JV.

Seelye led Fruitport with two hits in three at bats.

This is Lowell's first tournament championship this season. Everyone played exceptionally well, outscoring their opponents 49-10 throughout the day. Lowell looks to keep things going next week as they start back in with conference play.
