Arrows finish 12^th @ regionals but qualify one to States

Friday at Portage Central HS was nothing but brutal as the Arrows had to deal with shifting strong winds as well as 90 degree temps at the MHSAA Regional Meet.  The conditions all but eliminated the automatic qualifier marks which meant only the top two in each event would advance to the Division 1 state meet in two weeks.  Joshua Rau will be one of the competitors at the state meet as he took medalist honors in both the 110m high hurdles and the 300m hurdles with times of 14.85 and 40.88.  Earning all-region honors by finishing in the top 8 were Keegan Cater finishing in 5^th place in the discus with a toss of 123-09 and Levi Mills with an 8^th place in the 400m dash crossing the line in 54.02.  Lowell’s 3200m relay team comprised of Sawyer Fowler, Jackson Fowler, Ben Bromley, and Cole Weston opened the running events with a 5^th place finish running 8:34.

The next meet for the Arrows will be the Metro Health meet at Comstock Park HS.  Top 16 people in each event are eligible to run on Wednesday.
