Girls Bowling places 11th in Jenison Invitational
The Girls Bowling team participated in a multi-team tournament at Fairlanes of Grandville on Saturday, January 4, 2020. There were 20 teams participating, including several Division I schools from the West Michigan area. OK White Conference rival Northview came out on top of the strong field; the Red Arrow Girls placed 11th.
Bowling for the Girls were Haylie Beers, Emma Blakie, Olivia Dennie, Savannah Escobedo, Jessica Hull, Tatum Chambers-Lawrence, and Courtney Witten. The teams bowled a qualifying round of 2 regular individual games and 6 Baker games, and the top 8 teams moved on to match play. High games for the Red Arrow Girls were bowled by Emma Blakie with a 179 and Jessica Hull with a 171.
In the regular individual games, there were 107 bowlers. Three members of the Red Arrow girls placed in the top half: Emma Blakie - 19th, Jessica Hull – 30th, and Courtney Witten – 37th.
The match originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 8 is being rescheduled to later in the month. The Girls will be back in action at the Lowell Invitational next Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at The Bowling Alley of Ionia.
