Tonight your Red Arrows played against Forest Hills Northern. The Arrows came out hard in the first half but after a quick couple saves by goalie Aubree Lee FHN was able to find the back of the net to make the score 0-1. The Arrows did not give up though. Within 10 minutes sophomore midfielder Lauren Malone was able to give a beautiful ball, that split the FHN defense, and found jr. Captain Emily Ake. Emily beat the goalie to the ball and found the back of the net to make the score 1-1. When the second half came the Arrows kept pressure on the defense of FHN. Senior captain Lilly Kooistra scored a goal that was passed from her teammate, Lauren Malone (second assist on the night), giving the Arrows a 2-1 lead. The Arrows never gave in and won the game 2-1. Goalkeeper Aubree Lee had nine saves on the night. This was the Lady Arrows’ first win against FHN in 5 years! The Arrows travel to East Grand Rapids on Wednesday. Go Arrows.
