The Lowell Boys Cross Country Team opened the 2021 season with a second place finish, 99 points, to Rockford's win with 98 points at the Portage Central Early Bird Invitational. East Grand Rapids followed with a third place finish at 103 points.
Taking top honors for Lowell was Sawyer Fowler with a second place finish of 16.22. Jackson Fowler placed 13th with a time of 17.08. Medaling in the race as well was Ben Bromley, 15th, with a time of 17.18. Completing the final score was Cole Weston, 26th, at 17.52, and Keegan Cater, 43rd, at 18.31. Finishing the varsity lineup were Blake Bennett, 47th, 18.37 and Levi Mills, 49th, 18.39.
Lowell's next race will be Wednesday the 25th at the Hesperia Invite in Baker Woods followed by the Pete Moss Benzie Invite on Saturday the 28th.
